Praia
In the small town of Praia, Cape Verde, you will find a tiny island hundreds of miles away from the coast of West Africa. A capital and the largest city of Cape Verde is known by the name Praia, which is Portuguese for “beach”. Located in the Atlantic Ocean, Cape Verde is an island nation that was founded by Portuguese colonists in 1615. There are beautiful views out into the ocean from the capital city as it is situated on a plateau along the top of the mountain. A rich history as well as a unique cultural feel can be seen in the ancient buildings and monuments of the city. Due to the melting pot of cultures on this island, the culture of this island can be described as unique. This region consists of abundantly rich valleys and plateaus, as well as abundantly rich sandy beaches, mountain ranges of mountains, and broad and dry areas without trees.
